Cat Towers For Adoption Support

The group has provided special funding needed for the SLCo Animal Services shelter to purchase 20 new cat and kitten towers. Staff can use these in multiple ways throughout the year. They can transport and house kittens and cats to public events where adoption and foster opportunities can be expanded. In the shelter, staff can use these towers for neat and attractive displays in the public areas, enhancing the visibility to families searching for that special new forevere friend. Also, shelter staff can use these towers for those special times when the regular cat and kitten kennels are overcrowded and extra space is needed where cats can be safe, comfortable, and even have room to play.






     Shady Covers for Greeting and Group Play Areas

The shelter was able to enhance the outdoor Meet-&-Greet and group play areas when Utah FACES donated funds to purchase patio covers for each of the three outdoor spaces. These much-needed covers enable these outside greeting and play areas to be more comfortable for both people and pets on rainy, snowy, and scorching hot days.

        Special Rabbit Cages for Public Display Areas

FACES supported the cost of some new kennels especially for the rabbits who come to the shelter needing safety and protection in their quest for foster care or adoption to new families. Shelter staff can now display the bunnies and rabbits who come to the shelter in comfortable and attractive settings where members of the visiting public can see the animals and discover how cute and cuddly they can be. This enhances the safety and health of these rabbits while they are waiting to find their new forever homes.







Vaccination and Microchip Clinics
Utah FACES has continued to sponsor Vaccination and Microchip Clinics where basic dog and cat immunizations have been provided for free and microchips have been made available for only $5. The group sponsors events like this in order to help pets and their owners stay together and cut down on the spread of animal diseases.


Spay & Neuter Clinics
There have also been annual opportunities for people to bring their dogs and cats to special Spay & Neuter Clinics at the Salt Lake County Animal Services facility. At these clinics, Utah FACES supports free Spay and Neuter surgeries to the canine and feline pets of our Salt Lake County constituents. This project has helped Salt Lake County Animal Services protect against unwanted litters and population explosions that endanger the lives of so many unfortunate animals.



        New Computers for Shelter Staff

Utah FACES was in a position to accept a local business donation of a significant number of nearly new computers and computer monitors to greatly assist SLCoAS in a much-needed replacement of virtually all of their old, outdated systems.


There are many new projects that continue to come to our attention. One present focus is to find ways of providing a digital X-Ray machine for the clinic to prevent the wasted time and funds in transporting animals to outside locations for the X-Rays that are necessary to successful diagnoses and treatments.
