What You Can Do

Get Involved!

There are many ways that concerned animal lovers can become involved in Utah FACES. Our primary concern is that animals’ lives are saved to the maximum extent possible and that they are allowed to live safe, comfortable, healthy, and happy lives.

Utah FACES is a totally volunteer, not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) organization that exists to contribute significant support to the goals and activities of Salt Lake County Animal Services. It is within this mission that we support the total elimination of the euthanasia of adoptable animals – Salt Lake County Animal Services strives to be a true No-Kill shelter. We need all animal lovers to help us achieve this very important goal.

Your help can be channeled in several different ways!

  • Of course, many of our efforts require funding: you can DONATE money directly to FACES, either for special projects or for the general goals and activities that Utah FACES supports.
  • You can ADOPT one of the special animals who are searching for their new, very special, forever family. Adoption gets the animal out of the shelter and into a caring home with a new family who will protect and take care of its needs and welfare.
  • You can FOSTER one or more of the many animals who come to the shelter needing a whole variety of temporary helps. Sometimes, we need folks to foster puppies or kittens until they are old enough to become adoptable. Sometimes, we need folks to take care of an animal that has been injured or medically/surgically treated in our clinic and need recovery care until they can get back into the adoption stream. Sometimes, we need to have some animals fostered in a caring and loving home while they learn how to be good pets and family members. And, sometimes we just need to have a few animals spend some time with a foster family while an overcrowding situation gets taken care of at the shelter.
  • You can VOLUNTEER in any number of meaningful ways. Utah FACES needs volunteers to help us get our several activities and projects to completion. Salt Lake County Animal Services needs volunteers to help feed the animals, clean the kennels, walk the dogs, socialize and train the animals, meet the public, and so forth. We may not yet have discovered many of the ways your volunteering can be helpful in saving and caring for the animals that need us.
